Praia, Oct 30 (Inforpress) – The parliamentary group of the African Independence Party of Cabo Verde (PAICV-opposition party) and the People’s Liberation Movement of Angola (MPLA, ruling party) sign this Thursday, 31, a new cooperation agreement.
According to the leader of the parliamentary group of the People’s Liberation Movement of Angola, Americo Kuononoka, in 2010 and 2013 these two parties had signed a cooperation agreement containing eight articles.
However, in this new agreement “some improvements” were made and the renewal of the contracts, this parliamentary leader told reporters today, following a courtesy visit to the President of the Republic of Cabo Verde, Jorge Carlos Fonseca, in which he was accompanied from the parliamentary leader of the African Independence Party of Cabo Verde, Rui Semedo.
“We raise cooperation a little higher, not only on paper, but also on exchange of information, collective participation in some events that have to do with both parties, and the prospect of all this is in fact our solidarity and our cooperation and our mutual help in whatever is necessary and common to Angola and Cabo Verde,” he said.
The MPLA Parliamentary Group delegation has been in Cabo Verde since 28th this month and will visit until November 1st, at the invitation of the PAICV Parliamentary Group, to meet with Cabo Verdean entities.
