Oswaldo Osório presents the seventh book of poems entitled “Tiresias”

Praia, Dec 2 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verdean poet, short story writer, playwright and essayist Oswaldo Osório launched his seventh book of poems, entitled “Teresias” in Praia, with poems about situations and major problems that affect the world.

Speaking to the press, the writer explained that the intention is to warn people about the current state of the world, which, in his opinion, is full of shock, highlighting “problems” in terms of climate change, terrorism, lack of love and humanism.

“The book is divided into two parts. The first part, brings a set of poems about the state and situations caused by man when devastating forests, plundering the earth’s natural resources, that is, man doing and undoing, and the second part is that they forget that there is anything superior that corrects what goes wrong, which is God, ”said the author, explaining that it is a work of “easy reading ”.

For the presenter of the work, Fátima Fernandes, the author treats this issue in a “philosophical” way, with an “extremely mature” poetic writing in the sense of being the oldest Cabo Verdean author and whose life and writing trajectory is very rich and extensive.

“I see“ Teresias ”as a kind of“ self-portrait” that, through this classic figure, tries to give us a little reflection on what has been the last decades and closes with an interesting reading of the Apocalypse as if biblical conferentiality could follow us more closely,” she said.
