Open Government Week kicks off this Tuesday in Praia

Praia, May 19 (Inforpress) - The Minister of State Modernisation and Public Administration, Eurico Monteiro, will preside over the opening ceremony of Open Government Week, an initiative that promotes collaboration between government and society.

According to a press release, the event is being promoted by the Ministry for the Modernisation of the State and Public Administration (MMEAP), as the entity responsible for national coordination of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) programme.

The meeting will bring together representatives and experts from government, the public and private sectors, academia and civil society, emphasising that Open Government Week is an annual international event promoted within the framework of the Open Government Partnership (OGP) by member countries and local governments around the world,

The initiative aims to strengthen work to promote more open governments, encourage the implementation of agendas and engage civil society in finding solutions to global problems.
