New Swiss ambassador expresses commitment to strengthening ties of friendship and cooperation between Switzerland and Cabo Verde

Praia, 25 June (Inforpress) – Switzerland’s new ambassador to Cabo Verde today expressed his commitment to strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, extending the partnership into new areas that had not previously been explored.

Pietro Mona made these statements to the press following the presentation of his credentials to the President of the Republic, José Maria Neves, at a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Platô, Praia.

According to the diplomat, during the meeting with the Head of State, bilateral relations were discussed and new opportunities for collaboration were identified, with a particular focus on the private sector, tourism, scientific cooperation and joint work within the framework of the

United Nations.

“We have already identified several avenues for future cooperation, and I now pledge to work with the President of the Republic, the Government and the people of Cabo Verde to strengthen the friendly relations that exist between Switzerland and Cabo Verde,” he said.
