Praia, Jul 1 (Inforpress) - The president of the National Library Institute of Cabo Verde (IBNCV) announced today that the institution will resume the mobile library project this year and, to this end, is arranging for the purchase of an adapted vehicle.
‘We already have funds available to buy the vehicle, so very soon we'll be inaugurating the first travelling library here in the country, in this turning point in the promotion of books,’ said Matilde Santos.
The head of the IBNCV made this revelation to the press on the sidelines of an activity in the informal neighbourhood of Alto Glória, as part of the celebration of World Libraries Day, which is being marked today.
He acknowledged that there had been a ‘slight delay’ in acquiring the vehicle because, he explained, it was a specialised car with adaptations for the type of journeys.
