MpD accuses PAICV leader of making irresponsible statements and justifies with ICT policies and diplomacy

Praia, Feb 14 (Inforpress) – The Movement for Democracy (MpD) accused the PAICV president Thursday of making statements about the ICT sector and Cabo Verdean diplomacy which demonstrate that her “irresponsibility has no limits and the discredit is growing”.

In a press conference held this afternoon, the MpD secretary general assured that Cabo Verde is currently a country recognized by the world, as being credible with a democracy with a world reference, open to the world, with diplomatic relations of excellence.

Miguel Monteiro said that the Janira Hopffer Almada statements demonstrate the total ignorance of the African Independence Party of Cabo Verde (PAICV – opposition party) leader regarding “the social and economic dynamics that the country is registering”.

He stated that the leader of the main opposition party is “on the wrong side and contrary to dynamism”, which many young talents, entrepreneurs, students have been demonstrating and taking advantage of opportunities that exist today in professional training, professional internships, in professional retraining in technological startups and international events.

As a justification, he explained that regarding technological infrastructures, investments in Ellalink, in the amount of US $ 25 million, will represent, in terms of data communication speed, as well as the expected introduction of 5G, extraordinary gains for the country.
