Praia, Feb 3 (Inforpress) – The Mayor of Praia acknowledged the need to invest more in urban rehabilitation interventions in the northern part of the capital, aiming to promote and guarantee the balance in its urbanization.
Óscar Santos made these statements to the press this Saturday, on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony for paving works on several streets in the Ponta d’Agua area, held today, an act that was chaired by the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva.
According to the Mayor of Praia, this investment is the result of a partnership between the Government and the City Hall of Praia, within the scope of the PRAA program, adding that about six kilometers were paved for these works, and are estimated at around 32 million escudos. Óscar Santos said that the City Hall team has also planned for Ponta d´Agua district more urban rehabilitation interventions, stressing that all interventions to be done are estimated at around million escudos.
“The City Hall’s interventions are still going on, we will start other works soon on the grass field, in Zone 4, works on staircases and streets are also underway, and all these interventions are estimated at around 80 million escudos”, he said, remembering that these interventions will also be carried out under the PRAA program.
He stressed, in this sense, the importance of these works, which in his opinion will improve the quality of life and raise the self-esteem of the residents, remembering, on the other hand, that one of the slogans of the electoral campaign of the current City Hall team was that “all the neighborhoods belong to the city of Praia”.
