Porto Inglês, Feb 14 (Inforpress) – The coordinator of the PAICV Regional Political Commission in the island of Maio, Agostinho Silva, Thursday challenged the City Hall to justify the amounts placed in the successive municipal budgets for the completion of the sewer network works in the village of Calheta.
According to Agostinho Silva, since 2017, the City Hall, led by the mayor Miguel Rosa, elected by the MpD, has been allocating funds for the completion of the sewer network works in the village of Calheta, but after three years they still remain without any improvement and it was not even possible to finish the announced works.
The local official of the largest opposition party recalled that since 201 the City Hall of Maio has entered in its budget funds for the completion of this work, started in 2012 by the predecessor, Manuel Ribeiro, and initially budgeted at 18 million escudos. Agostinho Silva also took the opportunity to also urge the former Mayor to prove where the amount was invested and why the works were not completed.
Agostinho Silva also said that in 2017, the current City Hall entered in its budget the amount of 10 million escudos for the completion of the works of the sewage network in this village, and in the following year it introduced another amount of 4 million escudos, once again now in 2020 entered an additional amount of 100 thousand escudos for connecting bathrooms to the sewer network”.
