Ribeira Grande, May 14 (Inforpress) - The coordinator of the Maio Furta-Cor campaign in Ribeira Grande, Santo Antão, Rea Coutinho, argued today that there is an urgent need to look at breastfeeding women
‘In motherhood, the focus is always on the baby, but the mother also needs care’ is the statement that sets the tone for the fourth edition of the campaign, which runs throughout the month of Maio, with various activities centred on the emotional and psychological well-being of mothers.
Speaking to Inforpress, Rea Coutinho explained that this year's initiative emphasises the theme of atypical motherhood and aims to give a voice and visibility to mothers of children with conditions such as autism or cerebral palsy.
‘We want this year to also be national and international in scope, to promote greater understanding and support for these mothers,’ she emphasised.
