Maio: City council congratulates basketball player Edy Tavares for winning the Endesa League

Porto Inglês, Jun 27 (Inforpress) - Today the City Council of Maio congratulated basketball player Edy Tavares for winning the Liga Endesa while playing for Real Madrid.

In a statement, the city council praised the athlete for raising the name of the island of Maio on the international stage and wished him success in the coming sporting seasons.

"Edy Tavares represents a true living symbol of an island and a people who believe in the future. His career has been marked by overcoming natural and imposed barriers, faced with courage, determination and wisdom.
