Legislatives 2026: UCID promises national stadium and vocational training centre in São Vicente

Mindelo, Apr 24 (Inforpress) – The UCID candidate for prime minister said on Thursday, the 23rd, that if his party gains political strength in parliament, it will build a national stadium and a commercial and vocational training centre on the island.

João Santos Luís, leader of the Independent and Democratic Cape Verdean Union (UCID) and head of the list for the São Vicente constituency, made these statements during the public presentation of the candidacy.

According to the candidate for prime minister in the elections on May 17th, the island was once a leader in sports, but lost that momentum due to a lack of investment.

He therefore advocated the construction of a modern sports infrastructure, with support from international partners.
