JPAI opposes recruitment of young government councilors

Praia, Sep 3 (Inforpress) – PAICV Youth (JPAI) has opposed the Government’s tender for the recruitment of young councilors for Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva, considering it “unconstitutional”.

In a statement, JPAI congratulated Ulisses Correia e Silva, “that in the absence of an entity to protect the youth sector in the organic structure of his government”, he had the initiative to create the Youth Advisory Council as a platform for communication among young people, with the Prime Minister.

“However, we are surprised and regret that only after more than three and a half years of Governance that Dr. Ulisses Correia e Silva has remembered the youth and only now wants to hear and communicate with them,” reads.

Still in criticism on the tender, the youth organization of the African Independence Party of Cabo Verde (PAICV – opposition party) claims to be “unconstitutional” still the rule that restricts candidates for nonpartisan membership of the Youth Advisory Council.
