Praia, Jun 4 (Inforpress) – National Assembly President Jorge Santos said on Monday that he abstained from expressing an opinion on the alleged Government political propaganda, since there is a regulator for this.
“I abstain from issuing an opinion as president of the National Assembly, given that there is a regulatory and higher institution that will issue this same communication”, he said, when asked by journalists to comment on the advertising spots that the executive of Ulisses Correia e Silva has been passing in the state media, to mark the three years of governance of the 9th Legislature.
Jorge Santos recalled that this campaign has already been the subject of a complaint in the Social Communication Regulatory Authority (ARC), so at this moment “we must await the decision” from this entity.
Recently, in statements to Radio de Cabo Verde, the President of the Republic, Jorge Carlos Fonseca, considered these spots “unnecessary, inappropriate and disproportionate” in relation to what is “legitimate” in terms of the right of communication.
