Praia, Jan 30 (Inforpress) – The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Santos, received Wednesday the chairman of the Permanent Specialized Commission for Legal Affairs of Guinea-Bissau to exchange experiences and study the possibility of improving the Guinean Parliament system of operation.
Speaking to journalists, Higino Cardoso said that he intends to follow closely everything the National Assembly of Cabo Verde has done, to contribute for improving the system and operation of the Guinea-Bissau counterpart, and make the most of the potential that exists between the parties.
Asked about the electoral imbroglio in Guinea-Bissau, the parliamentarian did not comment, saying, however, that there is a problem between the National Election Commission and the Supreme Court, which is why he suggested waiting for the final decision of the judicial bodies. He admitted, however, that there is an electoral dispute in his country, as there is still an impasse regarding the proclamation of the winner of the presidential elections held on December 29, 2019.
The visit of the chairman of the Permanent Specialized Commission for Legal, Constitutional, Human Rights and Public Administration of the National Assembly of Guinea-Bissau will end on February 2nd.
