INTERVIEW: Carlos Veiga admits to decide on presidential candidacy after leaving office as ambassador

Praia, Apr 3 (Inforpress) – Carlos Veiga admitted to Inforpress that when he leaves the post of ambassador he will make a decision on a possible candidacy for the office of President of the Republic and which will happen before the legislative elections of 2021.

“Some of my colleagues have already stated that I said I would. It was not that”, explained Carlos Veiga in an interview with Inforpress, adding that when asked what conditions he had to apply for tenant of the Palace of the Platô, answered that he is “always in service for Cabo Verde”.

“I do not depend on conditions that are imposed on me. I depend on myself and the decisions I make in a free and independent way”, he said, adding that he will also need to talk with his family, friends on the subject and, at the time, will take a position.

Carlos Veiga made these statements to Inforpress, on the margins of the first Ministerial Conference on Tourism and Air Transport in Africa, which ran from March 26 to 29 in the tourist town of Santa Maria, Sal Island, in which he participated as Cabo Verde representative to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), established in Canada.
