Internal Elections / MpD: National authorised representative of Ulisses Correia e Silva calls on militants to exercise their right to vote

Praia, Feb 10 (Inforpress) – The national authorised representative of Ulisses Correia e Silva candidacy to president of the MpD, a position he has held since 2013, today called on militants to exercise their right to vote in the party’s internal elections scheduled for this Sunday, 9th.

Speaking to Inforpress, Fernando Elísio Freire guaranteed that everything is ready for the party internal elections in the country and in the diaspora, considering the elections as a “big journey” of internal democratization.

“We are fulfilling what we had determined, we are doing everything so that the militants can vote tomorrow. This is what we expect to have a vote that legitimizes our president. We have around 27 thousand MpD members registered, as you know there is naturally a great expectation ”, he declared.

The start of the vote, according to this official, is scheduled for 8:00am and ends at 6:00pm, adding that the current president of the Movement for Democracy (MpD – ruling party), Ulisses Correia e Silva, who is also Prime Minister will vote at noon at Palmarejo.

On the other hand, he said that the polling stations are distributed throughout Cabo Verde and in the Diaspora, having revealed that the climate at the moment is of “great expectations, tranquility and above all, a lot of confidence”.
