Praia, 05 Mar (Inforpress) - The National Institute for Territorial Management (INGT) today announced the launch of an ideas competition for the sustainable enhancement of the Ilhéu de Santa Maria, located on the seafront of the city of Praia, the institution informed.
The competition, whose regulations were published in the Official Gazette on February 24, aims to collect conceptual proposals that will serve as a basis for future urban, environmental and cultural interventions in that space, locally known as “Djéu”.
According to INGT, the initiative represents an “important step” in the strategy for coastal urban development, framed within the territorial planning of the capital’s coastal area.
The official decree establishes that participation is open to national citizens residing in the country or in the diaspora, as well as to multidisciplinary teams and companies. The participation of foreign professionals or entities is permitted, provided that they partner with Cape Verdean professionals.
