Government praises TAOLA+'s ‘dedication and meritorious work’ in favour of preserving the environment

Tarrafal, 05 May (Inforpress) - The Minister of Agriculture and Environment praised today in Tarrafal the ‘dedication and meritorious work’ that the Cabo Verde Environmental Conservation Network (TAOLA+) has done in favour of preserving the environment at national level.

‘I congratulate TAOLA+ and each of the NGOs that are part of this network not only for this annual meeting, but also for their dedication and for all the meritorious work they have been doing in favour of preserving the environment, particularly with regard to nature conservation on our islands and islets, including a significant marine part,’ Gilberto Silva congratulated.

He made the statement during the opening of the annual meeting of the TAOLA+ 2025 Network, which runs from today until Wednesday 8th and brings together the 14 member non-governmental organisations (NGOs), representing all the islands, in a hotel in the municipality of Tarrafal de Santiago.

‘We all recognise and praise the role of environmental NGOs as a very active part of civil society in the process of sustainable development in our country,’ he said, adding that the actions of these NGOs are complemented by those of the private sector and the central and municipal governments
