Praia, Jul 4 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Energy highlighted the Luxembourg government’s experience in the Cape Verdean energy sector on Wednesday, stressing that the energy transition in the country is strongly associated with Luxembourg cooperation.
Alexandre Monteiro made these considerations during the visit of Luxembourg’s Minister for Cooperation and Humanitarian Action, Paulette Lenert, to the Center for Renewable Energies and Industrial Maintenance (CERMI) in Palmarejo Grande. At the occasion, the minister emphasized the importance of this center in the formation of specialties such as installation of micro-generation and the improvement of renewable energies.
He also highlighted the role of cooperation with the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in the introduction of electric mobility in the archipelago, a project that is “very important and a strong brand for the country”.
According to Alexandre Monteiro, micro-generation is of enormous importance to Cabo Verde and is included in the Government’s program, not only to provide the country with more renewable energy in the system, but also to contribute to the reduction of the energy bill.
