Praia, Aug 21 (Inforpress) – The Government, meeting in Council of Ministers, has approved the draft law establishing the Council for the Corruption Prevention Council (CPC), an independent administrative body whose function is to prevent corruption crimes.
The information was presented to the press by the Minister of Culture and Creative Industries, Abrãao Vicente, who at a press conference made known the 11 bills approved at this weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers, held on Monday, 19th.
This council, he said, has as its main objectives the retention and prevention of corruption risks, the collection and processing of information in order to identify the most vulnerable areas to the penetration of the phenomenon, the monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of existing legal instruments, as well as administrative measures taken by the public administration, the public business sector and corruption matters.
Therefore, with the creation of this council, he explained that, on the one hand, they will fill a “risk prevention gap prior to criminal prevention”, pursued by the Public Prosecution Service and the Judiciary Police bodies, since it is the responsibility of both the Public Prosecution Service as well as the Judiciary Police develop criminal prevention actions, interrelated with criminal investigation.
