Praia, Oct 1 (Inforpress) – The resident national team lost the game with Ivory Coast 4-1 in its debut game at the West African Union of Federations (UFOA) Tournament in Dakar, Senegal.
In a match played this Monday at the Lat Dior Stadium in Theies, outside the Senegalese capital, the national team went badly into the game and conceded the first goal after seven minutes in a penalty, scored by Laurent Magbi.
Still in the first half, on 22 minutes, the same player scored twice in the match, making it 2-0, result of the first 45 minutes, when the most dangerous move of Cabo Verde was a header from Admar, who took the Ivorian goalkeeper to make an excellent defense.
In the second half, Dumbia made it 3-0, in a counterattack after 53 minutes and after seven minutes, Cabo Verde reduced the deficit through Alex, with a beautiful goal, but in discounts Dumbia scored again and made the final 4-1. Cabo Verde is back on the field in October 5 to play against Nigeria, a side that lost in it’s debut match against Togo counterpart 2-1.
