Football: Liga Stopira enters its 14th edition with 16 teams and focuses on training and preventing juvenile delinquency

Praia, August 11 (Inforpress) – The Stopira League begins its 14th edition on Saturday the 15th, with the participation of 16 teams in each of the under-11 and under-13 age groups, a competition that aims to contribute to the training of young people and prevent juvenile delinquency.

In statements to Inforpress, the mentor of Liga Stopira, Ivanir Barreto, known as Barusco, explained that the main objective of the project is to give young people opportunities to compete so that they can reach senior football better prepared.

"The main objective of the Liga Stopira is to give young players more opportunities and more playing time so that, when they reach the age to play in the first division, they are better prepared," he stated.

The competition, which will take place over three months, only on weekends, brings together teams from various neighborhoods in Praia and the interior of Santiago, including areas considered more vulnerable to juvenile delinquency.
