Fogo: Minister of Health Conducts Eight-Day Working Visit to the Island’s Health Facilities

São Filipe, 11 August (Inforpress) – The Minister of Health, Lúcio Fernandes, is undertaking an eight-day working visit to the island, which will run until Monday 17, to assess the functioning of healthcare facilities and strengthen coordination with local authorities.

The minister’s visit covers the three municipalities on the island – Santa Catarina do Fogo, São Filipe and Mosteiros – and includes visits to healthcare facilities, an assessment of infrastructure conditions, and institutional consultation meetings with mayors and local officials working in the sector.

As part of his official agenda, the minister was in Santa Catarina do Fogo on Monday 10th, where he paid a courtesy visit to the mayor, Manuel Teixeira, and visited the Cova Figueira Health Centre and the Achada Furna and Chã das Caldeiras Primary Health Care Centres.

Today's program includes a courtesy visit to the Mayor of São Filipe, Nuías Silva, followed by a visit to the São Filipe Health Delegation and the São Francisco de Assis Regional Hospital.
