Praia, Jul 16 (Inforpress) – The National Pharmaceutical Company (Emprofac) wants United Nations support to diversify sources of drug supplies.
The intention was expressed this Monday in the City of Praia, by the company’s president, Gil Évora, on the sidelines of the UN Resident Coordinator visit, Ana Patrícia Graça, this afternoon to Emprofac.
“Through this meeting, we will study ways of joint purchasing with small countries like Cabo Verde and have problems of quantities of medicines purchased and do not allow access to certain sources or producing countries,” he explained.
Gil Evora admitted, however, that the institution needs to change the way it works with regard to the drug supply system, since, as indicated, 74 percent of purchases are concentrated in Europe, more specifically in Portugal.
