Praia, Jan 15 (Inforpress) – The administrative director of the Cabo Verde School of Hospitality and Tourism (EHTCV), Fernando Cruz, said the EHTCV trainees’ employability rate is around 80 percent (%).
Fernando Cruz made these statements to the press on Tuesday, on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the training began Tuesday with the participation of 170 new trainees from six Cabo Verde islands. “Our mission is to train qualified professionals to immediately integrate the labour market and that is what has been happening,” said Fernando Cruz, who pointed out “an extremely high employability rate of around 80% and, in some courses, even higher”.
He said that the aim of EHTCV is to focus increasingly on improving the skills of the trainees to effectively integrate the labour market after the end of the course. Trainees take part in the Food and Beverage, Kitchen & Pastry, Hotel Accommodation Management and Laundry courses, courses with different workloads, but all with required internships.
The 170 trainees come from the islands of Santo Antão, São Vicente, Sal, Maio, Santiago and Fogo and begin their training in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism, thus filling the entire accommodation capacity of the EHTCV residence for students.
