ECOWAS recommends revision of the legal framework governing electoral campaign financing

Praia, May 20 (Inforpress) – Today, the National Electoral Commission (CNE) published on its official page a set of recommendations presented by the ECOWAS observer mission, notably the revision of the legal framework governing electoral campaign financing.

According to the mission of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the measure aims to promote more equitable treatment for smaller political parties.

The information was released on the CNE website following a press conference during which the ECOWAS and CPLP missions presented the results of their monitoring work regarding the May 17 legislative elections in the country.
