Deputy-PM reiterates that the Public Finance Council is an independent body from the Government

Praia, Feb 4 (Inforpress) – The Deputy Prime Minister reiterated Monday that the Public Finance Council (CFP) is a Government independent body that will contribute to the “in-depth and objective debate regarding the State Budget”.

According to Olavo Correia, the CFP will also discuss expenses, revenues and sustainability and everything that has to do with macroeconomic projections, so that everyone, citizens, companies and institutions, have access to information beyond what comes from the political, party spectrum and parliamentary.

The minister made these remarks to the press on the sidelines of the meeting of the Specialized Committee on Constitutional Affairs, Human Rights, Security and State Reform of Parliament, which discussed, in general, the proposed law that should return to the plenary to be voted on in the details.

“It is an important instrument, which will not have legislative powers, but will have consultative, opinionative powers and will contribute to the debate on the State Budget to be more qualified, more demanding and more responsible”, underlined the Deputy-Prime Minister, who is also Minister of Finance.
