Death: Minister of Culture promises to preserve the legacy of Lalaxo

Praia, Jul 10 (Inforpress) – The Minister of Culture and Creative Industries, Abrãao Vicente, pledged Tuesday to try to preserve the legacy of Horacio Vieira dos Santos “Lalaxo”, through the dissemination of his theater and storytelling in Cabo Verde.

Abrãao Vicente was speaking to the press during the opening of the photographic exhibition “With the Wind at Our Backs” and “Path to Glory”, a Cabo Verdean-American photographer, Ron Barboza, at the Ildo Lobo Culture Palace in the City of Praia.

The minister said that after the death of Lalaxo many artists, creators and men of culture sent messages directly also to the Ministry of Culture urging him to be given a posthumous tribute to Lalaxo.

“We, once again, pledge to try to preserve his legacy not only through the storytelling of what was going on, but of his impact within the theater and the storytelling in Cabo Verde,” said Abrãao Vicente.
