Covid-19: National Assembly moves forward with measures to prevent the new coronavirus

Praia, Mar 20 (Inforpress) – The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Santos, Thursday announced a set of preventive measures to be adopted by the Parliamentary House to fight against Covid-19 that has already killed more than nine thousand people in worldwide.

In a press conference, the President of the National Assembly announced that, among the measures, it is from today “prohibited to carry out extra-parliamentary, civic, social and cultural events in the National Assembly building”.

According to Jorge Santos, the measure was designed and taken in coordination with parliamentary groups, following the contingency measures announced by the Government to prevent Covid-19 to entering Cabo Verde.

In addition, the president of the National Assembly said that parliamentary sessions are to be held without public assistance in the galleries of the session room and visits, whether individual or group, to the Parliamentary House are suspended.
