Praia, Mar 26 (Inforpress) – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Olavo Correia, said Tuesday that in the next three months Cabo Verde’s governance will have to be done without looking at statistics and ratios, and should be focused on people.
The minister took stock of the Council for Social Coordination meeting, which culminated in the signing of a tripartite agreement with fiscal, financial and social security measures, to mitigate the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, to protect employment and companies and keep the economy running.
“Obviously, in the next three months we have to stop looking at the statistics, looking at the ratios and looking at people, from the point of view of health and public health and also from the point of view of employment and income”, said.
In this sense, he added that everything that is being adopted, in terms of public policy measures, using taxpayers’ resources, has the sole objective of guaranteeing employment and access to income so that families can overcome this difficult phase, which they call “economic tsunami”, and the minimum degree of suffering.
