Praia, Mar 20 (Inforpress) – The President of the Republic on Thursday urged the Government to find measures to help, especially, small businesses to cope with any possibile reductions in workers and wages as well as unemployment benefits, given the impact of Covid-19.
Jorge Carlos Fonseca made this alert to the press, after his visit to the Virology laboratory of Dr. Agostinho Neto Hospital, in Praia, where he extended these concerns to the tourist companies of the islands of Sal and Boa Vista.
“This is a web of problems and challenges, but as with all battles there are concerns first. I believe that the first has to do with health. We all have to comply ”, explained Jorge Carlos Fonseca, for whom the Government “will always be forced to make adjustments on the measures”.
The Head of State said that in a country like Cabo Verde, vulnerable, in a fragile economy and dependent on the outside, it is essential to have rigorous information regarding the measures that make the impact of this pandemic less harmful.
