Nova Sintra, Mar 24 (Inforpress) – The City Hall of Brava announced this Monday the closure of all sports and multipurpose municipal spaces, due to the outbreak of the new coronavirus (Covid-19), declared by the WHO as being a world pandemic.
In a statement, the City Hall explains that these spaces will remain closed for “each and every activities that involve great gathering”, until the competent health agencies declare that “there is no longer any risk of spreading Covid-19”.
“Each citizen is called upon to make his/her contribution, respecting the prevention recommendations given by the Government of Cabo Verde and the competent bodies for that purpose”, calls on the local authority.
On sport, Mário Soares, councilor responsible for this area, informed Inforpress that the Directorate-General for Sports (DGD), in partnership with the City Hall, had already scheduled some activities to celebrate the high point of World Physical Activity Day on the island, observed on April 6th, but everything was canceled.
In addition to the closure of these spaces, the health, security and civil protection authorities, among others, in partnership with the City Hall, have carried out some actions to raise awareness about the pandemic, as well as the inspection at the various levels of the measures announced by the Government.
This Monday, in addition to the inspection, they put a car on the island’s streets to pass messages about Covid-19, the preventive measures and restrictions made by the Government.
