Consumer confidence indicator evolves positively in the fourth quarter of 2024

Praia, Mar 28 (Inforpress) - The confidence of Cape Verdean families in the fourth quarter of 2024 remained positive when compared to the same period last year, according to data released today by the National Statistics Institute (INE).

According to the consumer survey, the confidence of Cape Verdean families continued the trend seen in the third quarter of 2024, i.e. it evolved negatively, but is still slightly above the series average.

This result, according to the same source, was due to families' positive assessment of their household's financial situation, the country's economic situation having evolved negatively compared to the same quarter last year.

‘In the opinion of those surveyed, over the last 12 months, prices have fallen and unemployment has risen, compared to the same period in 2023,’ according to the statement.
