Praia, Mar 27 (Inforpress) – The CNDHC today defended the need to follow up, monitor and evaluate public policies to promote the Cabo Verdean women rights, noting that March 27 instigates a deep reflection on the challenges faced by the women.
The president of the National Commission for Human Rights and Citizenship (CNDHC), Zaida de Freitas, launched this challenge in an interview with Inforpress, within the framework of the Cabo Verdean Women’s Day, celebrated today with the purpose of honoring Cabo Verdean women.
For this official, it is a date of “extreme importance” that, in addition to being a celebration, recognizes the role that Cabo Verdean women have played and their contribution to the construction and development of Cabo Verde.
Despite the gains made in promoting and guaranteeing Cabo Verdean women’s rights and promoting equality, Cabo Verdeans are still faced with a number of cultural, social, economic and mentality challenges that, in her opinion, require a continuous effort to overcome them.
