Praia, Jul 11 (Inforpress) – The City Hall of Maio and Bons Amigos Association signed an agreement of cooperation on Tuesday to control the circulation of dogs on public roads in the island.
According to councilwoman for the sanitation area of the City Hall, Carolina Santos, this agreement lasts for three years, indicating that in a first phase, the actions will take place in the city of Porto Ingles.
With this agreement the parties commit to “control” the circulation and number of the canine population in the island,” adding that this commitment must involve all stakeholders from civil society and from different institutions to deal with the problem of the stray dogs circulation in the streets of the island.
“It was an effective bet, since we no longer have any complaints and call on civil society to “take care of their dogs”, avoiding their circulation on the public road. We are talking about a very serious issue that is public health and environmental sanitation,” she said.
