City Council of Praia with operational plan for the rainy season, budgeted at around 100 mil contos

Praia, 7 July (Inforpress) – The Mayor of Praia announced today that the operational plan for the rainy season is underway, with a budget of around 100,000 contos already allocated.

Speaking to the press during a visit by the Minister of Health to City Council of Praia, Fernando Pinto stated that the operational plan involves resolving the city of Praia’s sewerage problems and clearing drains in preparation for the rainy season.

"It's a plan that foresees a set of activities so that, starting in January and February, we can plan the resources and means so that, before the rainy season, we have the entire municipality properly prepared, both in terms of ditches, slopes, streams, and housing," the mayor stated.

According to the same source, work is being done with Civil Protection to also inform people on how to act in dangerous situations and to be prepared to take precautions and thus minimize "some effects that heavier rain may cause".
