Praia, Mar 25 (Inforpress) – The first feature film by Cabo Verdean director and producer Samira Vera-Cruz, “Sukuru”, is now available, free of charge, on Youtube, the producer said.
“For a long time we hesitated to share Sukuru on the Internet, despite many requests, given its technical problems, which are a consequence of a lack of funding and equipment,” wrote Parallax Produções producer Samira Vera-Cruz on his page at Facebook.
However, she justified, at a time when everyone should be at home to protect themselves and everyone else, they decided to promote this film as a way of “sharing more art and culture”. This film, according to Samira Vera-Cruz, talks about hidden and taboo issues in Cabo Verde, namely the issue of mental health and drug addiction.
Sukuru is a psychological thriller that tells the story of Jiló, a young schizophrenic, addicted to crack, and his struggle with drug addiction, his mother and his demons.
