China is bolstering the Municipal Police with communications equipment, and the local authority plans to double its workforce

Praia, 12 June (Inforpress) – The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China today handed over 30 portable communication devices to the Praia Municipal Police, with a view to strengthening operational capacity and improving communication among officers.

This action also contributes to increasing the efficiency of inspection and intervention efforts in the municipality.

At the symbolic handover ceremony, the Mayor of Praia, Francisco Carvalho, described the gesture as a demonstration of the friendship and cooperation between China and the capital’s municipality, emphasising that the equipment will help to improve the mobility, communication and efficiency of officers on the ground.

According to the mayor, the donation includes around 30 portable communication devices and radios that will enable officers to transmit data, photographs, incident reports and suggestions in real time, thereby strengthening the Municipal Police’s response capacity.
