Carnival/São Vicente: Cruzeiros do Norte Begin Rehearsals to Energize Revelers – President

Mindelo, Jan 12 (Inforpress) – The carnival group Cruzeiros do Norte begins general rehearsals today with the aim of mobilizing revelers from the Cruz João Évora area and across the island, encouraging greater participation in this year’s Carnival.

Speaking to Inforpress, the group’s president, Jailson Juff, said the rehearsals are starting on a positive note and expects strong participation from members and supporters, reflecting the community’s enthusiasm for another edition of the “country’s greatest cultural spectacle.”

According to the same source, rehearsals start today and will continue until the eve of the official parade on February 17, with special focus on percussion, choreography and fine-tuning the theme “Golden History with Black Stones,” which the group intends to bring to the streets.

Jailson Juff said the goal is to deliver an organized, creative presentation that remains true to the identity of Cruzeiros do Norte.
