Praia, Feb 10 (Inforpress) – Camões, Cooperation and Language Institute launches this Monday, in the City of Praia, the “Diversity” (Diversidade) program, grant funding instrument for cultural diversity, citizenship and identity through the culture in PALOP and East Timor.
In a statement, the institution explains that the launch of this project will be made by the ambassadors of Portugal and the European Union, Helena Paiva, and Sofia de Sousa, respectively, and by the Director-general of Planning, Budget and Management of the Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries.
“Diversity” is a grant funding instrument for cultural diversity, citizenship and identity through culture in African Portuguese Speaking Countries and East Timor, to support small projects or actions that can contribute to the creation of additional employment in the cultural sectors and, simultaneously, for cultural diversity and citizenship through culture as social values.
This program is subsidized under thePPROCULTURA PALOP-East Timor EU – Promotion of employment in income generating activities in the cultural sector in PALOPs and East Timor project, financed by the European Union, co-financed and managed by Camões, IP in partnership with European Cultural Institutes (EUNIC) network. It is managed by Alliance Française in Angola and by the Portuguese Cultural Centers in Cabo Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique, São Tome and Principe and East Timor, in partnership with the remaining members of the EUNIC network in each country.
