Cabo Verde will participate in the 1st Pan-African Special Olympics Games

Praia, Jan 29 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde is participating in the first ever Pan-African Special Olympics Games, which takes place from the 23rd to the 31st of this month, in Cairo, Egypt, with a delegation composed of three athletes, a coach and an officer, all of them female.

Tamires Janine Rodrigues (City of Praia), Carla Sofia Araújo (Sal) and Cíntia Osvaldina Brito (Sal) are the athletes who are representing the country in this important continental sporting event for athletes with intellectual disabilities.

According to Inforpress, the Special Olympic CV Committee (COPAC) was responsible for this participation with international partners.

The Special Olympic Cabo Verde Sports Commission was established in August 2018 at its electoral assembly held in the City of Praia, where it has its headquarters in Palmarejo.
