Porto Novo, Jul 23 (Inforpress (Inforpress) – The Minister of Culture and Creative Industries, Abrãao Vicente, announced Monday in Porto Novo that Cabo Verde will have, later this year, the cinema law, which includes “ a set of financial incentives” to this sector.
“Cabo Verde will approve, this year, the cinema law, which does not exist yet. A law that includes a set of financial incentives. We have to realize that we are still at the beginning of what may be the cinema project,” in Cape Verde, explained Abrãao Vicente, at the start of a two-day visit to Santo Antão.
In terms of incentives, according to the minister, the Cabo Verdean Film Association (ACC) has already receives from the current Government, between 12 and 15 million escudos per year. The Minister of Culture and Creative Industries also announced that in September, Cabo Verde, through ACC, will participate for the first time at the film festival in Toronto, Canada.
This participation, funded by his ministry, will be an opportunity for national actors to have contacts with major producers and film companies worldwide, according to Abãao Vicente. Also in this area, the Ministry of Culture and Creative Industries (MCIC) has just signed an agreement with a well-known Nigerian actor who will, in 2019, make a production in Cabo Verde.
