Cabo Verde takes athletics, tennis and judo to the Islands Games in Corsica

Praia, May 23 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verdean delegation is already in Bastia, the capital of the French island of Corsica, where the opening ceremony of the 23rd edition of the Islands Games begins on Wednesday and last from 21 to 26 of this month.

For the young, the Cabo Verdean delegation is made up of 18 members, of which 12 are athletes representing the country in the modalities of tennis, judo and athletics in women and men, in addition to the technicians of each modality and leaders.

Headed by Sports Director-General Anildo Santos, the coach of this institution, Dário Furtado, assumes the duties of the mission chief, whose entourage arrived in Bastia, “moralized” after a long trip with stopovers in Lisbon and Orly.

Athletes and leaders set the primary objective of winning medals, with athletic coaches considering that their athletes are more than ever prepared to attack in this French territory.
