Praia, Apr 26 (Inforpress) – The Housing Sector Profile (PSH) says that Cabo Verde has a housing deficit of 8.7%, corresponding to 11.119 households and 39.023 individuals, and the country needs 26.412 new housing by 2030.
These data are contained in the National Housing Policy Charter that has just been published by the Government and establishes the Housing Sector Profile. According to the document, the Sal Island has in terms of households a worrying deficit of 20.2%, that is 1.666 households and Boa Vista 16.3% corresponding to 605 households.
The document states that the housing needs for horizon 2030 will be 26.412 new housing for a population of 621.141, corresponding to a population growth of 92.49 inhabitants in the same period.
“The Santiago Island will have the highest increase with 50 thousand inhabitants, followed by São Vicente with 15 thousand, followed by Sal and Boa Vista”, reads in the document that further states that the Brava Island, and the islands of Fogo, São Nicolau and Santo Antão will have much smaller needs.
