Cabo Verde National Archives marks 31 years with debate on professionalism, responsibility and ethics

Praia, Dec 3 (Inforpress) – The Cabo Verde National Archive (ANCV) fulfilled a program to mark its thirty-first anniversary, with a debate focused on the theme “Professionalism, Responsibility and Ethics in Public Administration”.

The conference, given by Professor Henrique Varela on Monday, focused on the mission of the workers who, according to the speaker, should be based on treating everyone, without exception, with “fairness, tolerance, integrity and cordiality”.

“Employees everywhere should  do their best for the job and be guided by ethics and integrity. If we love what we do, it means that we are on a good path, because being ethical in public administration is not an option, but an obligation,” he said.

Henrique Varela believes that the country can only move forward if it has professionals willing to build ethical action at work, be autonomous, aware of their actions, attitudes and activities, having clarity in their purposes, relating them to their lives and of others.
