Cabo Verde makes progress in protecting the environment but there is still a long way to go – ADAD

Praia, Mar 23 (Inforpress) – The president of ADAD Januário Nascimento said that Cabo Verde has made progress in terms of protecting the environment, but there is still a long way to go in order to ensure its protection and preservation.

The president of the Association for the Defense of the Environment and Development (ADAD) made these considerations in an interview with Inforpress as part of the International Day of Forests celebrations, that is observed today.

As you know, to mark the date this year, ADAD plans to plant about 500 trees this Saturday, adding that according to the established, “the big plantation” will be done in June, July, August and September.

Addressing the situation in Cabo Verde, this official defended the need for the country to guarantee the promotion and protection of trees and forests, remembering that it assumed the international commitment until 2023, to plant 8 million trees.
