Praia, May 6 (Inforpress) - The government is organising a conference on childcare in West Africa from 12 to 14 May on the island of Sal, with the aim of defining concrete strategies and promoting dialogue and good practices in the African region.
Speaking to Inforpress, the director-general of Social Inclusion, Ednalva Cardoso, explained that this is an initiative of the Ministry of Family and Social Inclusion and that it will have the partnership of the World Bank.
"We saw this regional conference as a strategic opportunity to promote dialogue and good practices in childcare. We want to learn more about the reality in other countries, and also gather and share our experiences on this issue," she said.
During the conference, she said, issues relating to the care of children aged 0 to 6, children with special needs, measures and policies for this age group in various countries on the African continent will be discussed.
