Praia City, Feb 02 (Inforpress) – Cabo Verde and the People’s Republic of China strengthened bilateral cooperation on Saturday, January 30, with the signing of two instruments continuing the existing framework of economic and technical cooperation between the two countries.

According to a note sent to Inforpress, following the Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement signed on January 22, 2025, worth 200 million Renminbi yuan (approximately 2.9 million Cape Verdean contos), the two parties proceeded with the formalization of a new agreement.

“A new Development Cooperation Agreement will be signed, in the amount of one hundred million Renminbi yuan (around 1.3 million Cape Verdean contos), which constitutes an increase in the grant provided by the People’s Republic of China within the framework of economic and technical cooperation between Cabo Verde and China,” the document states.

An agreement by exchange of notes was also signed, through which the Chinese Government granted its approval for the implementation of a project to rehabilitate three secondary schools in the country.
