Nova Sintra, Nov 5 (Inforpress) – Consultant in promoting gender equality and human rights Dionara Anjos argued in Brava that the root of Gender-Based Violence (GBV) is social inequality.
Dionara Anjos made these statements this Monday to Inforpress, following an ‘open conversation’ with members of the Luxembourg Cooperation Network’s workplace network for Brava Employment and Employability and 12th grade students on gender equality.
According to the consultant, the purpose of the conversation was to work with the participants on the concept of gender and gender equality, and try to get them to look at where gender inequalities are and the consequences of such inequalities.
And for that, she stressed that it is necessary for them to understand what gender is, not to be confused with sex. For that if these two concepts are confused, it is more difficult to understand that inequalities are socially constructed for men and women.
