Nova Sintra, Dec 23 (Inforpress) – The Red Cross volunteers today delivered food baskets to more than 100 families across the island of Brava, donated to the “Doe amor em forma de alimento” (Donate Love in Food) campaign.

Sónia Coelho, chairman of the Red Cross Local Council, told Inforpress in an interview that the campaign took place normally, making a “very positive” assessment of the involvement of all of the island’s commercial houses and the involvement of her volunteer team.

In addition, she pointed out that there was “full openness and support” from the outgoing team, which guided and supported them at every stage of the process from collection to identification of beneficiaries.

“We were very pleased, as we had a few days in the campaign and it was possible to collect a very significant amount of food that allowed us to benefit over 100 families at this stage,” said the president.

The campaign was conducted only in the commercial houses, and had not yet had to go out door-to-door, as stressed by Sónia Coelho, Brava solidarity was demonstrated in stores.
